Get ready to move to the sounds of gospel music with John Lakin and Friends at Harbison Theatre at Midlands Technical College (HT@MTC). Performing Saturday, February 18, Lakin will help elevate the power of Christ with a night of worship while celebrating Black History Month. Performing every Sunday at 8:30 a.m. on WACH FOX 57, he uses his platform to highlight established and independent artists, valuing the collaboration and connection that results. By lifting the voices of others, Lakin seeks to serve his community and allow the message of the Word to reign through. The culmination of Lakin’s efforts and their combined talents can be seen on stage through this soul-stirring, performance-based experience. Their enthusiasm about the message resonates beyond the lyrics and brings the community together through song, dance, and praise.
Singer, songwriter, and storyteller Patrick Davis is back in familiar territory. From Camden, SC, Davis attended the University of South Carolina before forging his musical path in Nashville, Tennessee. Over the last 20 years, he has honed in on his skill and developed a repetoire of experience through the constant creation of songs, recordings, and performances. Davis has written almost 80 songs that have been recorded by artists such as Darius Rucker, Jimmy Buffett, Jewel, Morgan Wallen, and Lady A. Recently, Patrick turned his attention to live performances with an 11-piece touring group deemed “His Midnight Choir.” The group features world-class musicians from South Carolina and Nashville.
